In regards to the following article:

Wis. man digging for diamonds with his fiancee finds 3.9-carat stone at Arkansas park
Date: October 25, 2007
Publication: Associated Press Archive

It has recently been exposed that Eric Blake, the subject was found out to have actually "salted" the areas with diamonds he had imported from India. He did this to make a profit, as Arkansas Diamonds are worth MUCH MORE than similar diamonds from India.

Bloggers on the FakeMinerals.com exposed this fraud. http://www.fakeminerals.com/archives/53

The Superintendent of the Crater of Diamonds state park has already informed him that he is no longer welcome on premises. Please write a follow up on this story, as it soils the reputation of both mineral collecting and the great state of ARKANSAS.

Thank-You

I wanted to follow up on this post of Shawn's.

I see a massive loophole in the settlement for the lawyers and DeBeers. There is a $10 minimum payout. If your share does not equal at least $10, you will not get a check at all. So it's in DeBeers best interest to have as many people as possible apply for their fair share of the cut.

I wonder how many people will fall in the $9 range.

I have a purple clam peral, my father found it approx. 50 years ago. He had it set into a ring for my mother. My mother has since passed and now I have it. Where can I get it appraised to find it's value. I live in Cape May, NJ. I'm about two hous from Philadelphia. It appears to be a darker purple and larger than the one pictured.
